Dark delusion

There is something wrong with the way we take to dark energy. It's become a dumping ground for all the mysteries of the cosmos: the moment something inexplicable turns up on the charts, we turn to dark matter and dark energy to do the explaining, comfortable as we are in its enigmatic shadow. Some day, something similar to what happened to the theory of relativity is bound to happen to cosmology. We're going to hit upon a new finding that's going to push us back to the white-boards and calculation notebooks, forcing us to recant into mainstream physics some notion that was surrendered to the esoteric allure of dark matter research.
