Apparently, the only issue standing in the way of The Hindu putting out a science/tech. page everyday is their revenue model. If they can get people who are willing to advertise on those pages, the grand old newspaper can be on the forefront of science reporting soon.
Said Siddharth Varadarajan, editor-in-chief (during my interview): "It takes Rs 22-24 to print one newspaper, and we sell it for Rs 3.50 apiece. If we can make up for the cost of each page, then there's no other reason why we shouldn't see a science page daily."
I'm on it.
